Wellington's Long Term Council Community Plan 2009 to 2019

The following is information relating to the preparation of Wellington City’s :LTCCP 2009 – 2019.

The Federation is working with Wellington City Council to bring about early participation in the preparation of the LTCCP for 2009-1019 for Wellington City.

Federation Facilitated Meetings

The Federation is organising 6 meetings that are being held throughout Wellington. These meetings are open to all members of the public including members of the Resident and Progressive Associations, and any community groups throughout Wellington. The purpose of the ,meetings is to gather information that Council might use in the development of Councils LTCCP which indicates what activities Wellington City Council might pursue over the next ten years. In facilitating these meetings, the Federation is keen that the people of Wellington have an opportunity to tell Council what they want Council to pursue rather than react to Council proposals.

These meetings will be held
Sunday 25 January 2009 at Newtown School Hall, Mein St, Newtown at 10am
Sunday 25 January 2009 at Johnsonville Community Centre, 3 Frankmore Ave, Johnsonville, at 10am
Sunday 25 January 2009 in Makara Community Hall at 10am

Saturday 31 January 2009 at Newtown School Hall, Mein St, Newtown at 10am

Sunday 1 February 2009 at Karori (hopefully at the Karori Community Centre, 7 Beauchamp St, Karori at 10am
Sunday 1 February 2009 at Kilbirnie Lyall Bay Community Centre, 56 – 58 Bay Road, Kilbirnie at 12.30pm.

People may attend the closest or any of these meetings.

Action
Come along to one or more of the workshops above and have your input

How is this going to be put together for the Council?

Council Staff and Councillors have access to this wiki and are fully able to participate in the wiki by taking the information supplied.

However, information fro the above workshops will be placed on the wiki and workshop participants will be invited to add to the information by placing further comments on the wiki. At the completion of this process as outlined above, the Federation will gather together that information (as it relates to the LTCCP) present a digital copy and a hard copy to staff and councillors for consideration for including in the LTCCP document. That document will be the Draft LTCCP which will then be available for comment through the formal consultation process.

On 18 February 2009, a meeting was held with council staff of all the matters included on the Wiki. A copy of the paper is online at http://www.residents.org.nz/documents/20090216_WCC_LTCCP_Wiki_Comments.pdf In that meeting agreement was gained to ensure that all matters would be dealt with or considered by Council. There are three mechanisms to deal with these matters. They are through the LTCCP, through policy implementation and through the development of processes and procedures or through the implementation of current procedures.
